Art & Soul - Whimsical Mystical Clay Creature

Registration opens on Sunday, April 14th at 12 Noon.

We are doing clay creatures again but this time we are stepping things up. Each creature can be anything you could ever imagine. Do you love unicorns and bunnies? Make a unibunny. Do you wonder what a ladybug would look like as a dragon? Create it! How about a gnome and a turtle. A spider and a dog? The possibilities are endless and completely up to you and your awesome imagination.

In this 4 class, each child will be designing and creating their own kiln fired clay creature. We will create our creature on the first day by sketching it out and designing the creature to prepare it for our sculptures. In the following weeks we will continue to form our design with clay and paint our project preparing it for the kiln, where it will be fired to a final ceramic piece. On the last day of class, the kids will create a Bio about their creature along with a drawing to go with it. Each child will take the finished creature Bio home on week 5. The creature will range in size from 4”- 6” in width, and 3”- 4” in height depending on the form the kids create.

Each child will be doing this from a ball of clay, so each one will be completely different and done to their own artistic abilities. What a fun and creative way to end another fantastic year with Art and Soul!

Classes will be held:  Wednesdays May 1, 8, 15 & 22 ~ 3:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

Cost per student:  $50 per student
