2024 Jog-A-Thon!
The Jog-A-Thon will be Friday, October 4, 2024!
(rain date 10/7/24)
The 21st Annual Matunuck School Jog-a-Thon is Friday, October 4th (with a raindate of Monday, October 7th)!
The Jog-a-Thon is one of the most fun and memorable days of the school year for our students; they get to spend time outside in the field in front of our school, running laps to music with their friends!
The Jog-a-Thon is the PTO's largest fundraising event of the year! The money raised benefits all students by helping to fund field trips, playground equipment, after school enrichment programs, indoor and outdoor classroom needs, yearbooks and PTO sponsored assemblies, events and activities that the kids look forward to throughout the year.
This year we have an 80% platform registration goal and $25,000 fundraising goal. What does that means and what do families need to do to get ready for the event?
1. Mark your calendars for Friday, October 4th and prepare your children for some running fun! (Rain date will be Monday, October 7th)
2. Register your student(s) on mybooster.com. Please note that it is NOT a requirement to make a donation or ask for donations when you register your student. Reigstering on mybooster.com simply helps us to manage the event in one central platform, and the more students registered, the more accurate the reporting. Our school-wide goal is to have at least 80% of our studentes registered this year. Last year we were just shy of this goal with 74% registered, so please help us achieve our goal this year by taking a few minutes to register your student(s). If we reach this goal, the students will celebrate with an extra recess!
3. Once you are registered on mybooster.com you can choose if and how you would like to contribute to the fundraiser. Via the platform, family and friends are able to easily support your student's running efforts by making a donation. You can share your student's page privately via email or text message to selected family and friends, or you can share via social media for a larger reach. Last year the collective outreach from families allowed us to achieve our fundarising goal and collect donations from 35 states!
4. Volunteer on the day of the event! Please be on the lookout next week for class-specific running times and a volunteer sign-up. We will need help during the event cheering on the kids, tracking laps, and taking photos. (Reminder that if you would like to volunteer you will need a current BCI on file with the SKSD. You can complete that today HERE.)
