JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF RHODE ISLAND (JA)

Matunuck Elementary School is pleased to host JA in a Day again this year. Junior Achievement of Rhode Island (JA) is looking for 2 parent volunteers from each classroom to volunteer for the day in “JA in a Day” at Matunuck Elementary School on Friday, March 20th.
"Junior Achievement's mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy." JA in a Day meets RIDE's requirements for financial literacy education for elementary students, and presents the information in a really fun, developmentally appropriate way. The lessons students learn with JA in a Day build on one another year after year- lessons begin with a focus on wants vs needs in kindergarten, then progress through financial lessons via the lens of families, then communities, culminating with lessons about global economic systems and entrapeneurship in fifth grade.
-
The elementary “JA in a Day” programs have five short lessons that you teach to the students throughout the day. Each lesson will last for approximately 30-45 minutes.
-
JA will provide the lesson plans and all materials needed for the day.
-
You will remain with the same classroom throughout the day.
Each volunteer must have a BCI on file with the SKSD, and attend a JA training.
